Chicken nuggets
As a treat I promised the kids some chicken nuggets from KFC.
What a rip-off. I never realised that they were so expensive.
Instead I picked up a couple of KFC boxes from the tables and then went to the supermarket, brought a chicken schnitzel that was on special because of the use by date, went home and cooked the schnitzel and chopped it into nugget sized pieces.
They never suspected a thing.

You've gotta be kidding me, Whitey! By the time you've taken into account the (high) petrol cost to get to the supermarket, then home, then the power costs for cooking the schnitzel, as well as the oil you cooked it in, and the hot water costs to wash the pan - surely you would have been just as well off taking them to KFC and be done with?
Did the schnitzel have a huge ventricle in it? 'Cos that's what was in the last KFC nugget I ate years ago.
I thought I'd be safer with an oven-at-home Ingham one. That had a feather in it.
The sooner your kids learn to hate and fear chicken nuggets, the better.
Jamies School Dinners. Chicken Nuggets.
He tried to show the children what was contained in said nuggets.
I'm sure none of those children have ever eaten another.
Not keen at all after seeing that episode.

Are you stupid? Whitey would have taken the government car at lunchtime to go to Coles. He would have then cooked it at work and brought it home using a ream of paper to wrap it in.
Yeah, Anon - on second thoughts you're quite right! Whitey would have done all those things as documented by you, so yes, I must indeed be stupid!
But wait - does he actually have access to a G car? CAN he actually cook?
Rita,
You are right! Unfortunately I no longer have access to the government car. It used to come in very handy as an "unofficial" taxi on weekends - due to bad luck I picked up the manager of the fleet cars outside Knopwoods one Saturday night. No matter how much discount I offered him he refused to understand my position.
So I walked to the supermarket and cooked using gas - cheaper than electricity - and always save money by putting the pans in the bath with all three kids.
lonie - next time you should ask for the chicken offal nuggets. They are 10 cents less and you get the same thing anyway.
inspirational stuff, whitey. You are to be admired for combining frugality with such kindness to the nippers! I hope they appreciate you!
