Close call, but managed to save $1.50

Many thanks to Australia Post for agreeing to deliver envelopes without postage stamps.

With seconds to spare as I sprinted down the footpath, I managed to intercept Mrs Whitey just before she posted three Christmas cards to her friends. After a brief discussion I took the envelopes home and steamed off the three 50 cent stamps. They still should be fine for next year.

Whitey - I think you might find yourself with your Xmas cards remaining unprocessed at the cebtral mail depot, and hence unreceived by your loving family and friends, as I heard on the news that, yes, the posties are delivering unstamped letters but the guys in the mail sorting and processing area are not sending on unstamped mail - so that "stand" taken by the posties means zilch if any unstamped mail isn't actually getting to that stage of mail delivery.

If it could save me $1.50, then it is a risk worth taking.

Or you could not post any cards, and when you see the people who would otherwise have received them, say something like "Did my christmas card get to you? Auntie Betty's didn't arrive - it must have got caught up in the union dispute!" Australians have such a fine tradition of blaming the unions and/or the government for whatever goes wrong - why not make the most of this, and save even more money?

It's Mrs Whitey that sends all the cards. It is so hard to restrain her sometimes.
