One of Hobart's greatest citizens

The office and home of the great man - Tim "Radar" Franklin of Radar Promotions.

Unfortunately I didn't get to catch a glimpse of the multi-talented Radar. He was no doubt spending quality time with his labradoodle and cleaning his glasses (or vice versa).

Hi Rita

It sounds as if you are a potential new member of the Whitey Fan Club. I am the President, do you want to be vice-president or secretary. Or you could take on the role of treasurer, if you feel that you are up to the frugality challenge (so far the expenses of the club have been a fantastic $0.00),

cheers,

The Pres

Hey Pres

That's the best invitation I've had all year!
As evidenced by the fact that I eat out most nights, I don't, in all honesty, feel I would qualify for the role of treasurer. I would SO blow the frugality budget, even given that in my review of Taste cafe the other day I recommended this as an ideal eating out venue for the White Family!

So - having given this offer serious thought and consideration, I am honoured to accept the role of Vice Pres of the Whitey Fan Club. Naturally I would prefer the role of Pres of Tim Franklin FC but as that role is obviously spoken for, will settle for the lesser VP role with Whitey.

cheers - Rita

Although it probably goes without saying, all positions are honorary.

Whitey, why don't you make them all double as patrons and then you can turn a profit.

Patrons? I doubt it.

We are so imbued with the concept of frugality that we would, of course, eschew any role that involved payment.

In fact, even voluntarily giving up one's time is of questionable frugality.

Logically, if time = money, then giving up my time to the fan club means I am giving money. For what return? I get just as much inspiration from Whitey by merely reading his blog?

Gosh, I have learnt so much that I must now resign!!

So keep up the good work, Whitey! I'm still here, but obviously I can't continue as a volunteer (unless I can be persuaded that I get something more in return)

cheers

Does that mean I now get to be THE PRES?

YAY!

yes, Rita, you can be the pres. This may, of course, involve some demonstration of frugality to show that you are worthy of the role. I'm not sure that the 'goog cheap eats' section of your website really qualifies. $10 seems pretty steep to me....

How about if I don't go out for dinner for a week? Does that count as frugal enough on the Rita-scale of frugality?

"For many years now I am proud to say I have been the owner of a very successful business but realise that out there is a life to be had and a life to be shared. I understand now that I need to have a life outside of work as silly as it may sound. I know that I am a fun-loving person with a great cross-section of friends around the country. I have been blessed with my job which has taken me all over Australia in the past 20 years. My friends tell me I have a somewhat of a dry sense of humour but also a great personality. On occasions I love doing things on the spur of the moment whether it be jumping in the car and going for a long drive and staying somewhere overnight, or a planned holiday within Australia or overseas. I understand a lot of people say this, but I say it with conviction, and having worked in the music industry most of my life music has been a passion for many, many years. From Sade through to the big hits of the 70s and 80s. At times I believe there is nothing better than sitting down with the right lady and watching a great movie, like a top comedy or great drama. Most importantly life is no where near the same if you cant share your thoughts and feelings with that one person you care most about in your life. But like any relationship in its infancy I believe it must start with a friendship and grow. I am more than happy to travel anywhere in Australia to meet that someone special and this is something that doesn't have to happen yesterday or next week. I have learned that time talking and getting to know a person slowly and properly is the only way go. I have put a lot of thought into being a part of RSVP over the last 12 months and have friends in Melbourne and Brisbane who either have rock-solid relationships or have made great lady friends via RSVP

Awesome blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?
I'm hoping to start my own blog soon but I'm a little lost on everything.
Would you recommend starting with a free platform like Wordpress
or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I'm completely overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Cheers!
