I'd only noticed that particular fashion amongst the young, so thought this post a bit inaccurate, till I walked 2 blocks down Murray Street yesterday, having read your post, and observed in that short distance 3 females all in the older age bracket and wearing eaxctly as you described, Whitey.
Yes - it IS a fashion which looks ridiculous on the older chicks! But I assume everyone who leaves their house every day, decked out in whatever attire they are, all feel they are dressed magnificently (in their own fabulous opinion)!
It's not how it looks that matters, it's the extra expense involved.
Whitey, its so they dont have to turn the heater up when they go indoors...the jeans help keep the heat in.
They should use other people's heaters instead.
