Frugal baby names

Good to see forward thinking from some parents.

In the birth announcements on Saturday there was a notice for Shakoda, a sister for Shakaya. There were also notices from her niece Shakira and cousin Shakylah.

This is obviously a thoughtful and well planned exercise. They will be able to abbreviate each name to "Shak" and reuse birthday and Christmas cards.

Lonie, weren't these names on the list for at least some of your kids?

I should think not, Whitey! Who needs chigger names when one has classy choices like Neptune and Rubella? ;)

Hi Whitey

I heartily disapprove of all these fancy made up names. I think it gives Tasmania a bad reputation. What ever happened to good, traditional names (like Jayson, Kylie, and Narelle)?

I recently heard of a baby born here in Hobart called Acacia, when the midwife commented on what an original name, mum advised it stood for 'all cops are c--ts in Australia'

I too weep for the future!
